Travel and weekend wrap up.

so i made the round trip to Kentucky. 14 hours of driving alone and 16+ with a copilot, which adds up to over 30. either way it was brutal. hopefully I'll never have to drive to another race like that. i'll start my fund raising for idaho right now and hopefully within a year i'll have the funds for a flight. All the equipment fit just fine in the truck however and the trek went off without a hitch. "looeyville" is a very nice city, we stayed downtown and got to experience the heart of that area. everything was within comfortable walking distance and besides the roar of the ambulances 4-6 times each night due to the hospital next door it was great. I could see how it could get iffy at the wee hours of night but it looks like the city is trying to re-do the downtown area and they are doing a very nice job. 4th street live is the entertainment district and from what i saw seemed to be really fun. night life was not my top priority however so i can't elaborate much. lots of bars and restaurants i'm sure with live music and what appeared to be weekly events. I certainly wouldn't mind another trip to kentucky but it will have to include a flight and some beers.
